Acton Academy Toronto is a 21st century micro-school that offers a fresh approach to education. The children learn together in a mixed-age classroom, bringing the classic one-room school house into the modern age.
Officially launching in September 2023, Acton Academy Toronto is opening the Elementary Studio and will be growing organically, adding Middle School and High School Studios the year after. We are a registered not-for-profit organization in Canada and currently pursuing application for a charitable status.
As member of the Acton Academy network with over 200 Acton Academy schools worldwide, we are accredited by the International Association of Learner-Driven Schools and a member of the Alliance for Self-Directed Education and Alternative Education Resource Association. The original Acton Academy is in Austin, Texas was founded by Jeff and Laura Sandefer. It is the inspiration of their children that led them to co-found Acton Academy.

- Students create and sign a Contract of Promises describing how each individual will act and the consequences for violating community norms.
- Mentor teams encourage younger and older students to listen, affirm, set goals and hold each other accountable.
- "Learn to Be" badges that celebrate character and completing leadership challenges.
